As the salary of the Indian prime minister is Rs 1.6 lakh per month (Rs 19.2 lakh annually), PM Narendra Modi has been listed at number 12 in the list of 15 highest paid world political leaders. Paycheck India, a website managed by Prof Biju Varkkey of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, has listed the salaries of most influential political leaders around the world. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev tops the list with whooping salary of Rs 1.6 crore per month followed by US President Barack Obama who earns Rs 19 lakh per month.
Lending a rather dramatic touch to their protests against the centre, Youth Congress workers on Thursday had their heads shaven and nails cut in the open, even as they threatened to intensify the stir if BJP ministers involved in Lalit Modi row and Vyapam scam do not resign. During their rally held here to convey their demands, Indian National Youth Congress (IYC) members collected hair and nail samples of 51 protesters.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a statement on DNA at Bihar. He should then test DNA of youth of the nation from the samples sent to him and analyse their demands," Raja said.
